MY STORY
From Minsk, Belarus to Dallas, Texas - one choice at a time
I started my career back in 2004 in my home country of Belarus, and I'd call my beginnings really humble. I was not the best student - I was pretty average, if you can call me that. Half of my first job was programming accounting software, and the other half was talking with end users. No one called that role BA at the time.
What moved me forward were the choices I made, the people I surrounded myself with, who I listened to and who I didn't, and the actions I took. Not fast, not overnight, but gradually.
I've hired BAs, promoted BAs, and personally conducted well over 200 job interviews. So when we work on your resume or your promotion case, I'll tell you how a hiring manager actually looks at it, because I've been one.
And here's what I believe: you can live a happy professional life as a BA. It doesn't have to be just a stepping stone to something else.
2006
My first official Business Analyst title, back when not everyone knew it was a profession.
2012
Promoted to Chief BA, leading 20+ BAs across several cities. The same year, I walked away from probably the best job offer of my life, because I was chasing someone else's dream.
2015
Joined a global IT consulting company. Fortune 500 clients like McKesson, HCA Healthcare and Medline, and global brands like Toyota and Amway.
2017
Discovered my passion for mentoring IT business analysts at a BA meetup in Minsk.
2018
Moved to the United States, to Dallas, Texas.
Since then
Led BA teams, including a global one, and grew to Associate Director of Experience Consulting. Worked directly with clients like Bose, Tory Burch, Daimler Truck North America, National Geographic and Alcon.
